Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about WaveTrimmer

Is WaveTrimmer really free?

Yes, WaveTrimmer is free to use for audio files under 1 hour. For longer audio files or advanced features like adding intro/outro audio, you can purchase credits as needed.

Are my audio files uploaded to a server?

No. WaveTrimmer processes all files entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your computer and are not uploaded to any server. This ensures complete privacy and security of your audio files.

What audio formats does WaveTrimmer support?

WaveTrimmer currently supports MP3, M4A, AAC, and WAV formats. We're working on adding support for additional formats in future updates.

Will trimming affect my audio quality?

WaveTrimmer trims your audio without re-encoding when possible, preserving the original quality. The trimmed audio maintains the same bitrate and quality as your original file.

Do I need to install any software?

No installation required! WaveTrimmer runs entirely in your web browser. Simply visit the website and start trimming. It works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebooks with any modern web browser.

Can I use WaveTrimmer on my phone or tablet?

WaveTrimmer is optimized for desktop browsers. While it may work on some mobile devices, the user experience is best on a computer with a larger screen for precise trimming.

What happens to my original file?

Your original file remains unchanged. When you trim audio in WaveTrimmer, you download a new file with your edits. Your original file stays exactly as it was on your device.

How do credits work?

Credits are used for premium features like processing audio files longer than 1 hour and adding intro/outro audio. You can purchase credits as needed, and they don't expire. Check our pricing page for current credit costs.

Is there a file size limit?

For free users, audio files must be under 1 hour in length. With credits, you can process longer audio files. The actual file size limit depends on your browser and computer's memory.

Can I trim multiple files at once?

Currently, WaveTrimmer processes one file at a time. This ensures the best performance and accuracy for each trim.

What browsers are supported?

WaveTrimmer works best on modern browsers including:

  • Chrome (recommended)
  • Firefox
